The only trip on this list that starts at the bottom of the garden. You launch from our own riverbank and drift down the Mopan with a guide who reads the banks as you go: iguanas on the branches, kingfishers working the shallows, the occasional otter.
No transport, no early start, no packing. Two or three hours and you are back on the deck.

Late afternoon is the best light and the most wildlife.
