Mountain Pine Ridge is a forest reserve of an entirely different character to the broadleaf jungle around the lodge: granite underfoot, pine above, and cold clear water.
Rio On Pools is a series of natural pools and slides worn into the rock. Big Rock Falls drops about fifty feet into a swimming hole you can spend an afternoon in.
Local tip
A high-clearance vehicle helps. The roads are passable but rough after rain.
